Given how special and in hot demand the pet therapy program at the Montreal Children's Hospital has always been, and knowing how much animals meant to Ronnie, we have committed to doubling the current impact and we will do so for, at minimum, a 3-year period.

This will mean adding an extra day of pet therapy a week which will in turn give the opportunity not only for a select number of inpatients to benefit but will also meet the needs of patients in the Hematology-Oncology outpatient clinic, the Autism outpatient clinic and the Pediatric Intensive Care and Advanced Care units. That's 1200 MORE children that we commit to help heal, bring smiles and comfort!

Caring for grieving families at the Montreal Children's Hospital

 Supporting grieving families after the loss of a child due to SUDC requires compassion, sensitivity, and a careful approach to both emotional and practical needs. At the Montreal Children’s Hospital healthcare professionals offer empathetic, non-judgmental support, acknowledging the family's profound grief and bereavement while providing clear, honest information about the circumstances surrounding the death.

Creating a space for families to express their emotions without fear of being rushed or dismissed is essential. We are happy to encourage this initiative which provides supportive environment where families feel heard, validated, and respected during their time of unimaginable loss is a critical part of compassionate care.   

Birthday gifts to the children of Le Phare

We are delighted to bring a smile on a child’s face, especially a child from Le Phare. Le Phare is a unique resource for pediatric palliative care, offering a comprehensive range of services, free of charge, to children with life-shortening illnesses and their families. Le Phare became the first community-based organization in Québec to provide pediatric palliative care.

Through its unwavering commitment, Le Phare has brought comfort, smiles, and hope to those navigating some of the most challenging times of their lives. With Le Phare our foundation offers children the opportunity to have a tailored birthday party if they are in hospice on their birthday.
